At some point, we all feel that we have run out of topics. Perhaps you do have a topic in mind but you’re not sure whether it is really worth it and if people will really bother reading. To fight this ‘not worth publishing’ feeling, here are some tips from successful bloggers you can follow.
1. Record your ideas
Once you’ve started blogging regularly, create a file which includes all your ideas that are worth writing on. This file must be accessible at all times and whenever you randomly think of an idea, note it down because your brain tends to forget easily. Whenever you can’t think of something else, go back to the file and work on a topic you’ve listed.
2. Steal ideas
One of the best ways is to keep yourself updated with what fellow bloggers are writing about. You’ll get to know what kinds of topics are in demand and trending. It is important to know that this isn’t stealing exactly; what you need is just the idea of what others are posting and then write something related to it.
3. Ask your audience
One thing followers love is when you talk directly to them. It makes them feel important and realize that they’re an important part of your blog. Create a comments section on your blog and see what people talk about; what excites them, what worries them and listen to their side of the story.
4. Search the internet
Internet is the obvious way to go when you’re stuck at anything. Although many people get stuck on content ideas, there are many successful bloggers who have overcome and resumed with their blogging. Search for trending topics and unique ideas.
5. Expand your blockbuster content
Go through your old blogs and see which one of those had the best ratings and reviews. Even after weeks and month since you posted those, they still may be generating a lot of traffic to your blog. What you can do is write a refreshed version of it, do a follow-up or perhaps elaborate on one of the key elements within that post.
6. Check for trends
There are many ways to find out the hot topics going on right now. You can use Google Trends and other social media to see what kind of content is popular and in demand.
7. Brief readers on the story
Another way to continue blogging is to keep your followers updated on the story of the blog so far. You can review your previous blogs, see what has changed and what you have learned. Don’t think of yourself as a blogger, think of yourself as someone who is helping everyone who is in need.
8. Write a guide
The best blog post is one that encourages reader to read other posts in your blog. Go through your old posts in your blog and see if you can create a guide for the people having troubles. But remember, the best guide is one which has the best sequence.
9. Ask for help
Maybe you have been blogging for quite some time now and your brain just needs some rest. What you can do is hire some great freelance writers for your blog while you go on a much needed vacation.
10. Critical analysis
This also means to surf through the internet and see what’s going on on other websites. Do you think you can come up with something like that? Perhaps you can carry it out much better than them.
11. Exercise your ‘idea’ muscle
The more you use your brain, the sharper it becomes. Work on ideas every single day and you will see for yourself that after sometime, new ideas come naturally.
Start following these steps closely and you’ll see that you’re never out of ideas. Brainstorm regularly and make sure you note down every idea. Don’t be afraid to seek help, after all, no one is perfect.
